Dear Reader,

We are only one day away from our goal of sending 10,000 meals to the Vermont Foodbank by Thanksgiving Day. Please join us with a donation that’s meaningful to you. Whether that’s $5 or $500, every bit helps and you’ll be sending 10 meals to the Foodbank.

Two in five Vermonters have faced food insecurity in 2022, more than in either 2021 or 2020. Every winter here means paying for fuel to keep warm, but this season the cost of heating the home will be higher than ever due to inflation. Choosing between heat and groceries is a choice no Vermonter should have to make. The Vermont Foodbank and its network have been on the front lines working tirelessly to ensure everyone has the food they need.

Likewise, VTDigger has been there for Vermonters — reporting in hospitals and schools, listening to local needs, asking the hard questions of public officials and covering the impact of these extraordinary times on Vermonters’ lives.

We know our readers want to help and we do too. When you make a gift of any amount to VTDigger during our critical annual fund drive, you’ll be supporting high-quality, investigative journalism and helping combat food insecurity at once.

We are so close to reaching our goal of sending 10,000 meals by Thanksgiving. Will you join our news community today?

A gift to VTDigger in any amount will send 10 meals to the Vermont Foodbank

In pursuit of truth,
